Covered Bridges

At New Haven Village Garden we celebrate the history of Covered Bridges in Early American Pioneer life with covered bridges traversing some of our creeks.

There has been quite a variety of styles of Covered Bridges in America. There were wooden timber frame covered bridges, stone covered bridges, iron covered bridges.

Author and artist Eric Sloane painted, drew and researched the history of Covered bridges. He wrote that he visited and drew over 1500 covered bridges in his lifetime.

So at New Haven Village Garden we delight in the covered bridges we have recreated over some of our creeks.
