Logging Museum

This building in the New Haven Village Garden is the logging museum collection. It houses an authentic collection of tools and artifacts from the era of logging in Michigans early days.

Logging and lumber are a very big part of the history of Michigan. With one of our resident caretakers of the village gardens Grandfather and Great Grandfather being farmers and lumbermen, we have gathered a nice display to highlight the history and the tools these early residents of Michigan used to harvest the trees and create the lumber that was shipped all over the world.

Michigan's White Pine Logging era allowed America to go from the log cabin era to the framed clapboard sided houses, changing the way the grass roots common citizens were able to build their houses.
